REUNIÓN ANUAL DE LA WESTERN BIRD BANDING ASSOCIATION - Virtual Del 10 al 11 de Septiembre de 2021


Although in person meetings are our preference, we need to hold this year's meeting virtually. This meeting gives us a unique opportunity to invite banders from all over the Americas and learn about banding from individuals that often can't travel to our in person meeting. So, please invite all your banding colleagues to register and join us for this meeting.


Aunque las reuniones en persona son nuestra preferencia, debemos realizar la reunión de este año de manera virtual. Esta reunión nos brinda una oportunidad única para invitar a anilladores de toda América y aprender sobre el anillamiento de personas que a menudo no pueden viajar a nuestra reunión en persona. Tentative schedule (all times are Pacific): Friday, September 10th 4 - 5 pm Virtual happy hour. We welcome you to settle in and meet and visit with other banders in the breakout rooms 5 - 6:30 pm Keynote speaker: Jared Wolfe. Jared is a past president of WBBA, currently a professor Michigan Technological University and one of the creators of the Wolfe-Ryder-Pyle ageing system. Saturday, September 11th 7 - 9 am Banding demonstrations, Virtual visits to three banding stations, tentatively one in Northern California, one in the tropics, and one in the Eastern United States. 1 - 4 pm Scientific talks. Talks will be in 15-minute slots, 10-minute talks, plus 5 minutes for questions. See link below for submission of abstracts. 5 - 6:30 pm Keynote Speaker: Stuart Mackenzie, Director of Migration Ecology of Birds Canada. Stuart has been involved in many projects, including being Chair of the North American Banding Council and a key driver for the Motus Wildlife Tracking System.
